Introduction to posture, breathing techniques, voice warm-ups, and pitch accuracy. Practice of Sarali Varases, Janti Varases, and upper octave exercises in Mayamalavagowla raga for strong foundational swara knowledge, modulation, and shruti alignment.
Advanced swara patterns including Dhatu Swaras and Melsthayi (upper octave) exercises. Focus on clarity, speed variations, and steady rhythm to enhance voice control.
Introduction to Sapta Tala Alankaras in major talas (Adi, Rupaka, etc.). Emphasis on precise tala adherence, laya (rhythm) accuracy, and swara execution across octaves.
Learning simple Geetams in ragas such as Malahari, Mohanam, Kalyani, and Bilahari. Students practice rendering lyrics with proper gamaka, bhava (expression), and tala.
Basic Swarajatis in beginner ragas like Bilahari, Khamach and Anandabhairavi. Introduction to Lakshana geethes will happen in this module.
Learning beginner-level Adi Tala Varnams in Mohana, Abhogi, Shankarabharana & Shree raga(s). Focus on accurate swara rendering, sahitya pronunciation, and rendering in two speeds.

Introduction to simple Kritis by composers of Tyagaraja, Mudduswami Dikshitaru, Shyama Shastrigalu and others (e.g., in ragas like Mohana, Shankarabharana, Pantuvarali, Kharaharapriya, Shanmukhapriya,etc). Includes basic manodharma sangita and Daasara Padagalu for bhakti expression.
