Vidwan Balakrishna Hosamane, is a son of Sri H. Narayana Bhat and Smt. H Mookambika who provided him the environment which is conducive to the study of fine arts. He started learning Bharathanatyam, initially from Vid. N. N. Shivaram Bhat and later continued under the guidance of “Guru” Ullal Mohan Kumar and also won the State Government scholarship.  At the age of 20, he started learning Mridangam and Morching from Vidwan Kukkila Shankara Bhat. Later he continued his study under the guidance of Vidwan M. Gururaj, All India Radio, Chennai.  Vidwan Balakrishna  H got “Direct B High” grade from Prasarabharathi and All India Radio, New Delhi, in the year 2009. He got the recognition as an  “A grade” artist from Prasarabharathi and All India Radio, New Delhi in the year 2025. He has also participated in Hampi Festival conducted by Government of Karnataka and International Festival of Morching-2012 held at Goa . He has also accompanied on the Morching in the National Level Trinity Music Festival and Akshavani Sangeetha Sammelana. Besides this, he has accompanied on Mridangam and Morching to many Carnatic music and Bharathanatyam concerts. He has also given many Lecture-Demo.s on “Aesthetics in Art” , “What is Art ?”,  “Art & Literature”, “Sangeetha Rasa Visthara”  etc. His many articles on Art and Literature, have been published in the National Level Journals. 

He has been bestowed with “Pallavi Prashasti”, “Ganasaraswathi Award” and “Nrithyakalopasana Award” for his accomplishments in the art of playing Morching and Mridangam.

In rhythm with his pursuit of art, he completed MA in English and later got M.Phil Degree on the subject “Art versus Artist”  which is one of the rarely studied subject. Presently he is working as the HoD of English Department and as the Dean of Faculty of Arts at Vivekananda Degree College (Autonomous), Puttur.

He is leading a happy life with wife Jayalxmi S  and son Amrith Narayana H.
